
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a form of acupressure that utilises a tapping technique upon acupuncture points to bring about psycholgical change.
It is a truism that whilst we may spend a considerable amount of time looking after our bodies, and even our mental attitudes, emotional distress can imbed itself within us and cause a wide variety of ailments.
The Emotional Freedom Technique is very easy to learn, and can help you maintain a balanced emotional attitude to your life that can only serve to enhance your day to day experience. The combination of tapping the energy points and using positive affirmations helps to clear emotional blocks from your system.
EFT can only a few minutes to learn once you have been shown the correct points and the tapping routine. With practice, you should be completing each sequence in under a minute.
Tapping with your fingers not only stimulates the area involved but also causes stimulates to the meridians running down to the fingers. You usually tap with your index and middle fingertips of one hand only. It doesn't matter if you are left or right handed as either hand works just as well, and some variants use both hands to tap simultaneously in a bi-lateral technique.
I use EFT as a complementary aid with other therapies and, where it is used I teach the principles to my clients so that they can carry out EFT work at home.
