NLP (neuro linguistic programming)

How many times have you heard the expression "our thoughts and beliefs create our reality"? People say how they are not good enough or worthy of promotion, or of finding a suitable mate or even earning a good living. This type of belief means they will stay stuck in their rut!

Wouldn't it be better to change those negative traits and allow yourself to achieve what you want from life.

You can with NLP, a great way to get you there.

What is Neuro Linguistic Programming?

It is the study of human excellence, of how to effectively employ attitudes, skills and techniques for thinking and taking action in order to achieve extraordinary results; both personally and professionally.

It all began in the 70's with Richard Bandler and John Grinder who became fascinated with the pursuit of excellence by questioning how several outstanding therapeutic communicators firstly Fritz Perls, then Virginia Satir and Milton Erickson succeeded in helping their clients make dramatic changes in their lives.

They discovered fundamental patterns in human thought and behaviour and used this knowledge to develop powerful techniques to help people improve their lives.

Neuro is the part of NLP that proposes that all behaviour comes from our experience of the world as processed neurologically through our senses, i.e. smell, hearing, site, touch, taste and feeling. Our thought processes are linked to our physical body in how we react to ideas and events. For example, you smell a char-grilled steak and your mouth waters in anticipation or you hear a piece of music that takes you back to a sad time and brings tears to your eyes, perhaps you hear a song that brings a smile to your face and you start tapping your feet. All these body reactions start in the brain as a result of stored memories from the past.

Linguistic is how we use language to describe our experienced thoughts which in turn define our behaviour, and ultimately, define who we are and how we communicate with others. I heard Anthony Robbins, author and NLP champion say, "the quality of our life is the quality of our communication". This I find profoundly true.

How we communicate to ourselves (internal dialogue) and others (externally) will influence the quality of our life. If we are not getting what we want from ourself, or others, we need to change our communication to get the right response in order to get what we want in life.

Whilst we are on communication, we are not just talking about words as these are only about 7% of our communication, the rest is made up of body language, physiology and tonality.

Programming is how we control, or not, the thought processes that direct our behaviour that eventually become habits. This would be true for say, giving up a smoking habit or over eating habit. We get stuck in a pattern of behaviour that is non productive and we need to break that pattern in order to progress forward in achieving our desired goals.

The most important part though, is, do you want to change?

If the answer is yes, then you have just taken one big step forward in gaining a more fulfilling life which you deserve.

Science has proven that we can not tell the difference between an actual memory and a visualisation. The beauty of this is that for any memory or state that does not support your desired outcome, you can change it with NLP.

For instance, do you have a filter of your parent's voice in your mind? A filter that may be telling you that you are not good enough? A filter that says that you are stupid, fat or ugly?

If you do, NLP can change it for you now, today!
